On May 19th, 2025 Tal-FSC was awarded a Project SAFE grant from the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation and the San Diego River Conservancy.  Talmadge is one of 31 Councils funded this year to aid in wildfire prevention and preparedness, and community education to make our neighborhoods safer. FSC projects include fire-hardening homes, removing flammable plantings, hosting vegetation chipping events, installing reflective address signage, and educating and assisting neighbors with emergency preparedness.

Our Talmadge FSC will use the funds to host a Fall Talmadge Dumpathon, making it easier for neighbors to clear brush from hillsides and around homes.  Check out the success of the Kensington Dumpathon last month. The Kensington community removed 17 dumpsters filled with fire fuel!
