Fall Event: Bird Park Native Garden Tours
October 3, 2026 • 9:00 AM
This fall, we’ll take a field trip to Balboa Park, to explore two very special areas. The first will be a tour & talk at Bird Park a native‑plant garden created by the Native Plant Society. Bird Park is a full‑sun garden, showcasing plants that thrive in bright, open conditions.
Our second tour right after will take us to the NAT Native Garden, This is a short nature trail featuring many different settings of native gardens/habitats from around Southern California. While Bird Park is full-sun, this trail offers a shaded environment — a great contrast and a chance to see how different native plants perform in different light conditions.
